We Serve
|
The following is based on Spring 2008 Officer Training - May 3, 2008
- Member Contact Information - The
district secretary makes the district directory of club officers available
in the Member Services section.
- Board Members - Eyes and Ears of the
Board. Be a contact for members to speak to about issues of
concern. Bring issues to Board.
- Vice President - Overseer of
committees. Should perform an annual review of the need for
standing committees to continue or be dissolved.
- President - Recognize member
achievements. Attend zone meetings, conventions, and organize annual
club retreat (use outside facilitator). Delegate tasks through club
chain of command (ie Vice Presidents and Committee Chairs). Work to
keep meetings interesting. Make sure needs of community are met.
- Tail Twister - Keep meeting
interesting. Enforce club rules. Charge minimal fines.
- Secretary - Record club
happenings. Report to LCI using WMMR Activity Reporting system.
Can add activity to report throughout month with Save option and then
Submit at end of the month.
A copy of the report is save-able by using the Print Report option.
This allows you to place a copy in your personal/club records and send a
copy to whomever needs one (ie DG).
Basic training for WMMR system is available in the Member
Services section.
Advanced help is available from Lion Carmalita Way (Email
Carmalita).
- Treasurer - Keep the club books
balanced.
- Lion Tamer - Keeper of club
"stuff", such as the bell, gavel, and banner.
- Membership Director/Chair - Provide
the club with interesting programs for meetings. Encourage new member
recruitment. Perform good exit interviews (perhaps performed by an
independent person).
- Zone Meetings - Clubs within a close
geographic region are grouped into a Zone. Presidents, Secretaries,
Membership Chairs, District Governors, Vice-District Governors, Zone Chair,
and Regional Chair should attend. Invite any additional Lions
who would like to participate.
For more information on Zone Meetings, please contact Lion
Kyle Austin (Email Kyle)
- Conflict Resolution - If tension
builds between members, conflict resolution should be attempted before the
problem spreads. Suggestions for starting the process include speaking
to someone who is independent from the conflict but close to the members
involved. Invite an experienced Lion from another club (or district)
to address the issue with the members involved. Contact Lion Rod Prys
(Email Rod)
